Dear Mister Makar,
Congratulations for this blog, it is a mine of beautiful ideas.
Actually, I bought your book “flash mx 2004 game design demystified” in Singapor in 2005.
It’s a pity because CD has been broken during a recent move. If you give me an email adress, I will be able to prove it sending you a picture of the broken cd.
I’ve searched on Peachpit’s website, hoping to find a copy of files included on cd… but without success.
Would you be kind to send me a zip with the code of samples from the book (or to indicate an adresse to download it with ftp) ?
I’m sorry to disturb you with such an affair, but I really would like to work and learn again with your book as companion.
Thanks a lot (and sorry for my bad english, french is my mother tongue).
With very best regards.

You’ll have to email Peachpit for that. Email them here:

Jobe,
Sorry to contact you via this comment box, but I’m ripping my hair out trying to use “as3-client-4.0.6a.swc” with Flash Builder. I import the SWC by adding it to the library path as usual, so far so good. Then I type “import com.electrotank.electroserver4.ElectroServer;” and everything is still ok. As soon as I hit “Save”, or try to compile my application I get the error: “1172: Definition com .electrotank.electroserver4.ElectroServer could not be found”.
What’s really annoying is that I can navigate through the SWC file and see that the package is there, and so is every class as well.
I’ve searched all over the internet and none of the solutions others have used have worked for me. I’m currently on Chapter 4 of your book and can’t get the “Hello World” application to work!
Thanks for your help
Wesley,
Feel free to post your question here:

It will get answered quickly.
My name is karl dailey. I bought your book ActionScript for multiplayer games and Virtual Worlds. the sample code is in electroserver 4, but i would like to try the latest version. with that being said i tried to perform the necesary updates to the code but im getting errors still. do you have electroserver 5 code available for this book?
Hi Jobe
I started using electroserver at uni in 2010, and ever since have used it in conjunction with flash to keep my creativity and programming up to scratch in my spare time (if only I could find a job as a flash developer, maybe soon). I only just found your blog, 2 years too late it seems 😦 Any recomended flash and electroserver websites to keep these handy tips coming? Still using ES4 because all of my flash server code to date was made for that version, seemed to not like using the newer versions so I have yet to migrate. Maybe ill will some day!
Reading through your archives at the moment. Big fan!
Cheers
Tim
